Planning for a New Year

Happy New Year!

Here at the farm we are busy crop planning, ordering seeds, and getting excited for this coming season. That’s right, this January thaw has us thinking ahead to spring plantings and summer days when the harvest is in full swing. It’s never too early to get planning, especially when you’re a farmer. But! It’s also never too early to be thinking of your own garden plans. Before we know it snow will fly yet again and we’ll all be holed up dreaming of flowers and sun-ripened tomatoes as we shovel ourselves out.

The good news is those dreams can become a reality. While the snow flies, cozy up on the couch with a hot drink, warm blanket, and visit our online store. We have dozens of our favorite vegetables, herbs, and flowers available for preorder through March 15. So get creative! Imagine your garden abundant with fragrant herbs to flavor your favorite dishes, flowers to bring joy and brighten your day, and a plethora of tasty vegetables to enjoy. We’ve curated a list of our tried-and-true favorites, plus some exciting new additions, to make this year’s garden your best ever.

From the moment we place a seed in soil our starts are grown with love and tended with care following organic practices. There’s nothing we’d like more than to help make your gardening dreams a reality, so scroll through the shop and let your imagination run wild. Happy gardening (yes, even in January), and may the new year bring you bounty and joy!

Happy gardening!

April at Rosaly’s Garden

In true April fashion, we have been graced with a cascade of precipitation over the past couple week—not snow, but not quite a spring rainstorm as the droplets slowly glaciate on a raspberry’s thorn, encapsulating the branch in a not-so-thin coat of ice. Yet, the...

March at Rosaly’s

Snowflakes drift through the air as I write—their soft, ethereal descent earthward a reminder that winter still lingers. Yet, there is a warmth in the air not present just a few weeks ago, the robins have begun to sing again, and the pussy willows are beginning to...

February at Rosaly’s

Greetings from the Farm! Flowers are very much on our mind these days. They are a welcome escape from the depths of winter and a reminder that spring is not so very far off (less than 50 days!). Recently we attended the Flowering in the North conference hosted by the...

April. Preparing. Maintaining. Pruning.

April is when the work begins in earnest. March has felt like a prelude, a gentle re-entry into the season before the cacophony of activity gets underway. Now, the crew is back on the farm, the crocus are blooming, the grow room is filled with seedlings, and the...

March. The month it all begins!

March. The month it all begins. We dust off our seeding trays, click on the grow room lights, and let the magic begin again. The farm will wake from its winter slumber—tractors will belch and burp their way to life, fields of brown will be transformed into a fresh...

Dustings of Snow

Glimpses of Green... Here we are perched on the dawn of the shortest day of the year. Ready to begin again a steady journey to light and warmth and long summer days. What a distant memory those feel now, as we rest our bodies by a crackling fire and look out to...

Flowers for your Valentine

Floral bouquets are on the mind for many with Valentine’s Day fast approaching. But instead of the classic dozen red roses or pink carnations, we’re thinking all the way to summer. We’re dreaming of buckets of sunflowers, zinnias, cosmos, celosia, asters, and so many...
